independence@67

Another issue that seem to be endless is quarrels among Hindus and Muslims. I am 23 year old woman with friends from almost every community. Sometimes i think that political parties add fuel to this Hindu Muslim controversy to win elections. This is because many of us have forgot that we have only one religion- WE ARE INDIANS. Another important role in these type of issues is played by media. But we should not believe all news shown by media. We should apply our own brains. Sometimes higher authorities use media as tool to hide their flaws. Our thousands of brothers and sisters die every year in Kashmir state on name of religion. Our jawans give their life to protect us. But government just announces few lakh rupees to their families and forget them. Even now i ask you  to just name 10 of our soldiers who died to protect us. I am very sure only few can answer that. We are living in a country where pizza delivery is promised in 30 minutes but no one promises that ambulance will reach the injured on time. Interest on car loans are much less than interest on education loans. Daily various companies ring our phone for home loan and car loan but no one among then seems to be interested in giving education loan. Children dies in school after having poisonous food given in mid day meals. Democracy is a system of government in which people chose their leaders among themselves by voting for them in elections. We are among the biggest democracies in the world. But the question is
                                          Is India truly democratic?
When more than 50% of votes are casted , it is considered good. Isn't it funny? when 50% of people haven't even exercised their rights , it is considered good. A person who cannot full fill even his basic necessities will never care about giving vote. Democracy provides equal rights to every citizen. But we all know justice and equality are hard to find in society. Government  claims to provide rice to BPL people at about 3 rupees per kg. But we all know how much rice will actually reach them.

Time has come when common people should become extraordinary. He should step out of his shell and should exercise his rights fully. We ask government for practical  opportunities instead of guaranteed success. We are catalyst in government policies. we should take pledge that we will stop playing role of victim. We are not going to stay where we already are. We will move forward for our better future.

But the million dollar question still remains

                            ARE WE REALLY FREE?
