Independence@67

We Indians just celebrated our 67th year of independence. We manage ourselves with our own people. We claim to have no interference from outside world. But as it is said that- it is easy to achieve success but difficult part is to maintain it. Independence is a strong word in itself. It's dictionary meaning is - being free from the influence or control of others. It had been 67 years since we have pushed foreign rulers out of our country. But trust me today's scenario is no different from past. Now we are ruled by people of our own country. But we are still living in misery. We claim to be free. But how many among us have guts to go after our dreams. Most of our decisions are not our own. They are imposed on us by society or other powerful authority. Women were considered as commodities before. And their condition is somewhat same now. Women cannot go out or walk fearlessly on roads. They are looked as mere machines which can be exploited again and again.  They think women are made to be molded according to their needs. Killing women for dowry and other assaults are very common news in various medias. But the question is how many of us try to do something about it. We do nothing, we just read news and turn page over. We daily see cases of eve teasing with our own eyes. But how many of us take a lead and try to put an end to this.
She is not our sister or our family member. Why should we bother?
But we forget that there are equal chances of our family member standing in that position. Nobody can forget brutal attack on girl on 16 December in public transport of Delhi. Instead of taking some practical and serious steps against these cases. our government is trying to decrease consent age of  ***. So that they can have less data of these kind of attacks on women. How pathetic is that.
Government claims to form new laws for protection of women. But the question is what does government do so that women can exercise these laws freely. Cases of IAS officer Durga Shakti is one of the recent cases which shows condition of women who are trying to do their work truthfully. Children are future of our country. Policies are made for children of BPL families so that they can get education in public schools too. But how many of them get benefit of these policies.Crores of rupees are spent on making infrastructure for these policies. But after that no one takes look inside these buildings to find how much execution of policy has been taken. India is a secular country. We give equal respect to all religions. But still while filling forms of any institution for studies or employment we have to fill our category (caste). Whether you are SC, ST, OBC or GENERAL. I strongly criticize these kinds of questions asked in various forms. Seat will be given to ST student instead of OBC or GENERAL category student instead of securing same marks. This is caste based discrimination. It destroys secularism of our country. Political parties chose candidates of particular religion for particular place. They just want to win elections. They don't care of any leadership qualities of their candidates. They win and get strong political position. Then there every selfish decision will have legal stamp. But we the common people are also equal culprit in these problems. People give vote to person of their own caste. Political parties very well know about soft corner in our heart for person of our own caste. They have exploited our this weakness for their petty pursuits. It sometimes seem that common people have crab mentality. They will pull leg of every soul that tries to go above them.
